The Apocolucky Charms jewelry line by Dax Savage, was
inspired by the ever increasing violence in the world, the
American invasion of Iraq, and the seemingly irreversible
destructive path of humanity. With the help of constant
bombardment of violent media in our society, Savage
foresaw a trend in fashion to turn weapons and military
gear into ornamental relics. He believes the simple act
of turning them into jewelry, symbolically takes their
destructive power away. The brass charms in the line have
been created out of recycled bullet casings. Other
materials used include sterling silver, copper, and
leather.
Apocolucky Charms are both reminders and symbols of
resistance against the numbing effects of carnage in the
modern world.
